Sun 10 Jun 18: another @ofo_bicycleuk bike ‘abandoned’ in Histon. I understand the basic business model and it seems like a good idea: low cost, highly flexible. What’s not to like? But as they’re taken further out from their home base the chance of them being rehired gets lower and so we end up with abandoned bikes. That’s surely not a good thing and I worry that the business model allows for some % to be simply written off every year so that a bike becomes a disposable item. Now that doesn’t seem right to me.
