Tue 27 Apr 21: Ken Clarke is the sort of politician this country badly needs. His like seem sadly lacking these days. He was a politician who stuck to his guns but understood when to compromise. During the Coalition years he was said to be the ‘seventh Lib Dem in the Cabinet’. He was a great Remainer and delivered a significant majority for Remain in his constituency.
