Thu 22 Jul 21: Wisbech Castle. It was owned by the County Council and the Assets & Investment Committee at the time was asked for permission to sell it. We decided to take a look and although hardly a castle it’s central to Wisbech and sits in the Crescent which is an elegant reminder of Wisbech’s more successful past. To his credit the committee chair, the now disgraced Roger Hickford, and I agreed that it should first be made available tot he community.
