Mon 4 Apr 22: very, and tragically, topical of course this is the view from my hotel room in Kyiv (Kiev as it was then). It truly is a city of spires and domes. I spent two nights there and then went on to Moscow which was very different. The weather didn’t help but whereas Kyiv has a centre which is a pleasure to visit, saunter and enjoy the space there didn’t seem to be such a friendly space in Moscow.
